About Cavas Marevia
Sustainable winemaking with respect for the grapes and land
Cavas Marevia is a project managed by members of the family originally behind the iconic Spanish brand Freixenet. Unlike the majority of bottle fermented sparkling wine from Spain (AKA Cava) 95% of which is made in Catalunya , Marevia is made in Requena, a relatively little-known wine producing area inland and to the west of the beautiful city of Valencia. All wines including the 0% cava are certified organic.
The road inland from Valencia rises steadily into the hills reaching 700 to 900 metres above sea level. Bobal is the most planted grape but Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Macabeo and Xarello all benefit from the extreme difference in diurnal temperature in this DO.
The Cavas Marevia facility is a stunning building visible from the main road and rail line. The entire outside wall facing the road has been painted by the Spanish street artist Lula Goce in 2023.
Although Cavas Marevia produces a range of wines from indigenous grapes like most cava (Macabeo, Xarello and Parellada), Cavas Marevia also produce a Pinot Chardonnay blend and a Blanc de Blancs from 100% Chardonnay. These classic varietals were permitted in Cava production from 1986 (Chardonnay) and 1998 (Pinot Noir). Whilst not suggesting that the bubbly from Cavas Marevia tastes like Champagne, it does have more in common with the various Crémants from France produced from these classic varietals, and certainly challenges the general preconception of what Cava tastes like.

Marevia Chardonnay Pinot Noir – Brut Reserve, Organic / Vegan
Pale golden colored cava with a steely rim, bright, with fine, crisp bubbles and persistent foam. 50% Chardonnay 50% Pinot Noir. Alcohol content: 11,5% Residual sugar 8,0g / L.

VEGA MEDIEN BRUT – Organic Cava
Pale yellow cava with greenish hues, bright, with fine bubbles and persistent foam. 75% Macabeo 25% Chardonnay. Alcohol content: 11,5% Residual sugar 8,0g / L.

Bella Mistala – Brut
Pale yellow cava with greenish hues, bright, with fine bubbles and persistent foam. 80% Macabeo 20% Chardonnay. Alcoholic degree: 11,5% vol. Sugars: 8 g/L.

FOC ECO NIT – Organic Cava
Straw yellow cava with greenish tones. Living, well and persistent bubble. 80% Macabeo 20% Chardonnay. Alcoholic degree: 11,5% vol. Sugars: 8 g/L.

VEGA MEDIEN – Sparkling 0.0%
Straw yellow sparkling wine with greenish tones. Living, fine and persistent bubble. Macabeo and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Alc:0,0% Sugar:60g/L.
