Cable Bay Vineyards Wines
The pinnacle of New Zealand’s premium wines
CABLE BAY CHARDONNAY – Waiheke Island, Auckland
From grapes grown on naturally low yielding, old vines, this wine is vibrant and complex. Grapefruit, peach and earthy clay pot aromas complement a fresh and focused palate. Fine phenolic texture and mineral acidity add depth and length respectively. The salinity from the ocean, oak influence, together with juicy tree fruit notes from the grapes, round out what is truly a charming wine.
CABLE BAY PINOT NOIR – Awatere Valley, Marlborough
This wine showcases beautiful aromas of smoky red fruit, cherry pie, thyme and petrichor. These aromas translate onto the palate with further layering of forest floor and earthy tones complementing the bright fruit flavours that are so abundant. There are subtleties in the structure and mouthfeel of this wine that have ensued from the river-stone built soils of the Awatere Valley.
CABLE BAY ‘FIVE HILLS’ – Waiheke Island, Auckland
Fresh crushed blackberry, milk chocolate and doris plum aromatics bounce from the glass. Dried herb and new leather subtly there, along with savoury, toasty spices from the oak. The palate has solid tannin structure and beautiful shape, which will integrate and soften with time ageing in bottle. There is a mineral texture that is reminiscent of clay pots hot from the kiln, and volcanic rock.
CABLE BAY SYRAH – Waiheke Island
Sourced from naturally low-yielding, 24-year-old vines, this wine exhibits exceptional concentration, depth and complexity. Aromas of blackcurrant, rosemary and dried fig rise immediately from the glass. The palate is opulent and velvety, with impressive fruit weight through the mid-palate. Vibrant flavours of plum, dark cherry and cocoa bean are persistent and finely detailed.
CABLE BAY SAUVIGNON BLANC – Awatere Valley, Marlborough
The alluvial gravel soil and ocean-influenced terroir of our site give a chalky mineral element to a full-bodied, dry, lively, and crisp palate. Lees ageing contributes further complexity, fine texture, and weight. These elements come together to create a refreshingly complex and balanced Sauvignon Blanc with a memorable, long finish.
Cable Bay Rocky Vineyard Pinot Gris – Awatere Valley, Marlborough
This wine is made from beautifully sun-ripened fruit grown on our established Rocky Vineyard vines. Fresh white florals of rose and jasmine are complemented by lifted aromatics of pear, subtle spice and a touch of honey. On harvest day, the fruit was soaked on skins until the desired level of tannin and flavour was gently extracted before pressing.

A few words from Alison, VinAccessGlobal Founder
“I first heard about Waiheke island back in 1985 when I was working for Geoffrey Roberts in London. After a short visit to this island in New Zealand, Geoffrey returned to London with rapturous reviews of the wines. No hesitation then when Cable Bay Vineyard approached us in early 2026.“
A few words from Andrew Parkinson, Sales Director at Cable Bay Vineyard
“Cable Bay Vineyards is a very special place. Not only for its stunning vistas and wines born of a unique terroir, but it’s people and the vision behind the property. I was captured from day one. Sustainable viticulture, food, olive oil and honey producers. Pure wines with minimal artifice.”
