Connecting people with a taste of what matters most
Established by the Seghesio family from Piedmont in 1895, Seghesio is now
recognized as one of California’s most well respected producers of Zinfandel,
California’s own grape. The original Home Ranch vineyard is still cultivated today,
part of 120 hectares of sustainably farmed vineyards in Dry Creek, Russian River,
Alexander and Sonoma Valleys. In additional to the stunning range of Zinfandels,
Seghesio produces a truly exceptional Chardonnay.
Based in the famous AVA of Stag’s Leap in Napa Valley, Pine Ridge was established
over 45 years ago and now farms 64 hectares across 5 AVAs: Stags Leap District,
Howell Mountain, Oakville, Rutherford, and Carneros. In addition to their Napa Valley
and Stag’s Leap Cabernet Sauvignons, the winery produces excellent white wines
like their North Coast Sauvignon Blanc and the highly acclaimed Chenin Blanc
Viognier.
The Archery Summit winery was established in the Dundee Hills in Oregon in 1993
and now farms vineyards in 5 AVAs specialising in Pinot Noir. With vineyard sites in
the prestigious Willamette Valley, America’s foremost region for cool climate Pinot
Noir, the vineyards are farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles.
Archery Summit also produces Dundee Hill Estate Chardonnay. The Vireton label
offers a selection of wines blended from various vineyard sites across the region. In
addition for Pinot Noir the Vireton label also includes whites from Pinot Gris.
Planted in 1973, before the AVA was established, 5 miles from the ocean in San Luis
Obispo on California’s Central Coast, Chamisal was always a pioneer. The vineyard
practices sustainable viticulture and has organic status on the horizon. Chamisal
continues to champion unoaked Chardonnay which pairs with the bright, fruit driven
Pinot Noir benefitting from the cool ocean breezes in the vineyard. Operations are
overseen by the female winemaker, Brianne Engles, appointed in 2022.
Seven Hills winery in the Colombia Valley on the Washington State / Oregon border,
is in the Walla Walla AVA. Established in 1984 the AVA is split between Washington
State and Oregon, growing mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Seven
Hills winery was built in 1988 with the first vineyards planted in the early 1980s. The
star product is without doubt Seven Hills Merlot with perfect soils and an ideal
climate of warm sun and cool ocean breezes for this varietal.
Double Canyon winery is in the Columbia Valley in Southern Washington State just over the border from Oregon, a relatively new area for growing vines. Double Canyon produces a range of Cabernet Sauvignons blended with small amounts of Petit Verdot, Malbec and Petite Syrah from vineyards in the key AVAs of Horse Heaven Hills and Walla Walla Valley. The wines are robust yet elegant and benefit from bottle ageing to fulfil their true potential. Being more northerly than California the area benefits from long sunny days and cool nights that maintain fresh acidity in the grapes despite the warm days.
